Canadian SpeakFree-for-all
Canada isn’t all that different from the States if you strip away the guns, bombs, terrorism, death, destruction, injustice, scandal, prejudice, hate and dumbass leaders.  Come to think of it, all of those things seem to happen because of the dumbass political leaders.
-Name Withheld.  Chicago, Illinois

I love the fact that I can travel to any province and not have to be interrogated like I am some sort of illegal immigrant and not welcome.
-Max.  Toronto, Ontario

The one thing that I enjoy about living in this country is that we have basic rights that all humans should be entitled to.  If I am a woman and want to marry a woman, I can do that.  Sure some people may not approve of it, but at least I have the freedom to be happy with whomever I want.  The same can’t be said in some other big nations.
-John.  Winnipeg, Manitoba

Gun control is something I envy in Canada.  I think that here in the States we are all too caught up with fighting each other and should do more talking and listening instead of taking physical action.  I can’t wait to visit your country again.  It is so hospitable and welcoming.  I certainly will be back soon.
-Frank.  Grand Forks, North Dakota

I have never been to Canada but I think your national police look real professional on their horses and it seems like they do a good job protecting your country.  I hope to save up enough money some day to visit your land.
-Pedro.  Argentina

The scenery is beautiful and the mountains and lakes are amazing in British Columbia.  You can head up to the mountains and go skiing in the morning and then go for a swim in the afternoon.  What a life!
-Jim.  British Columbia

I had never been to Canada until this past January.  It was cool to see that you have most of the same stores and stuff as we do in our country.  The weird thing I found is that you eat your french fries with gravy.  What happened to ketchup?
-Jamie.  Grand Forks, North Dakota

In Canada, the word “freedom" actually applies to the people, not just the politicians.
-Sonya.  Calgary, Alberta
Everyone in the world was invited to share views and opinions about Canada.  We had submissions from around the globe.  We present to you a sampling of what SpeakFree visitors had to say.
Maybe if you people would stick up for yourselves like we do in the States you wouldn’t be considered our sidekick when it comes to wars and stuff.
-Hugh.  Dallas, Texas

Our country is awesome.  No one hates us.  No one is trying to kill us.  No one thinks we are evil people.  That’s more than you can say for some other nations these days.
-Stuart.  Abbotsford, British Columbia

I think Canada was a better place before it started to be taken over by American corporations like TV networks, big box stores and all the other stuff that made Canada great years ago.  And I think that Canadian companies are wanting people to take notice that they are owned and operated by Canadians.  But in Canada people shouldn’t have to defend the fact that their company is Canadian.  It should be implied since this is Canada.
-Mrs. Davidson.  Oakville, Ontario

Any time I have visited Canada it has always been a really good time.  But I think I chose to visit during your extreme weather seasons.  It was freezing in February and scorching in September.
-Cliff.  Humboldt County, California

There are several things I don’t understand about Canada.  Why do we have a queen?  What exactly is the role of the queen?  And what makes a queen any better than the rest of us who actually live in this country every day?  I have wondered these things for years and what makes that woman any better a queen than Elton John.
-Jim W.  Regina, Saskatchewan

The best part about Canada is the fact that people have a voice.  If we want something to happen, the people have the power.  We aren’t entirely ruled by government officials.  If the public says we want this or that, the government is kind of smart enough to say, “Hey, we represent these people.  Maybe we should listen to them.”
-Janine.  Olds, Alberta

Two words – Anne Murray.
-Johnnie.  Gimli, Manitoba
Freedom is what Canada is all about.  Many other countries should take note of how human beings are to be treated.
-Dan.  London, England

I would have to say that the smog warnings are my favourite thing about living in Canada.
-Jacob.  Toronto, Ontario

I know a lot of people always want to go on vacation somewhere far and tropical, but if you think about it Canada has almost every sort of climate imaginable.  The prairies are a heat trip in the summer (most years) and if you want nice weather in the winter you can go to the West Coast.  There are so many awesome things to see all over the country.  I think you could maybe live a lifetime and still not experience all that Canada has to offer.
-Clarence.  New Westminster, B.C.

Hockey is our game… and don’t you ever forget that!
-Anthony.  Winnipeg, Manitoba

There is no other place I would rather live than in Canada.  When I travel for business I spend time in nearly every province when I am away and I don’t think there is one area of the nation that I don’t love.  Sure, the weather may not be the greatest, but the people sure are.
-Louise.  Mississauga, Ontario

A friendly Canadian smile is what I get on ever visit to your country.  It is so nice to be welcomed without feeling like an outsider when stepping out of a plane.
-Cassandra.  Quezon City, Philippines

We may not have the most money, but I think that is much better than having bombs and weapons to kill people off.  Perhaps if we lived in a country where there was chaos and turmoil, those weapons would come in handy.  Instead, we mind our own business and stay out of other people’s problems and let the people who are actually involved deal with it.  If they want to kill each other, let them go for it.  No single person “owns” the world.  I think that is one of the best things about Canada.  We step in when we are asked for assistance and don’t stick out noses (or guns) where they don’t belong.
-Tim.  Brandon, Manitoba
