JB- Justin, who are your musical idols?
Justin- I grew up listening to a lot of four-part harmony groups like Boyz II Men. I love Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder. I'm really into the whole R&B/Soul thing.
JB- Mike, do you think being different is always a good thing in the music industry?
Mike- Definitely. It definitely has its advantages. I think the market can be very saturated with a lot of groups that are very similar and having a unique sound or look can definitely be very beneficial as far as getting people to notice you. I think the music industry is due for a fresh new sound and we can provide that.
JB- In hindsight, looking at the NBC website and its description of you being Asian, wouldn't you consider that to be a good thing then? Because it did separate you and classify you as being different than the other acts that were on the show.
Mike- Well, yeah. But it was kind of redundant because our picture was right beside it and obviously we're Asian.
JB- You could just be very nicely tanned!
Mike- (laughing) But being different really has helped us stand out. That label, in hindsight, probably did help us out too. There aren't a lot of Asian singing groups out there so we're remembered pretty easily. Whenever the four of us are out in public we get recognized all the time.
JB- Mike, if you weren't doing music, what would you be doing in your life?
Mike- To be honest, I have no idea. The longer and longer I've been in this group the more and more I realize this is my calling. This is what I want to be involved in.
DJ- My response to the question is- I'd be flipping burgers right now.
JB- For which restaurant?
DJ- Mc D's. That's the biggest chain!
