Are you a party animal? It seemed like you had a really good time at your website's birthday party.
-Marcia
I like to do things that are different and not typical. I wouldn't really consider wild what we did for the party. Part of the fun I have is in being spontaneous. If someone has a goofy idea or suggestion I don't dismiss it right away. I try to build on that idea and see what we can come up with. I'm not sure if you've ever tried writing but sometimes you have what you consider to be a stupid idea but if you come back to that idea later or build on it a little bit you can come up with an interesting product. It may not be the same as what you started with but it's still giving the original idea a shot and building around it. So whether it's writing or party planning take a simple concept and just add more ideas -- almost like you're building a snowman.

What do you think of smokers? Any suggestions on how to get my parents to quit?
-Hailey
I personally have never even touched a cigarette. There are people close to me who smoke constantly and I find it disgusting. I don't even smoke and yet I smell like it when being around them. I can't really offer up any advice on how to get someone to quit. I think the only way a person can quit is if he or she really wants to. There are people who make deals with someone and say, "If you quit we'll go on a trip to such-and-such" or "I'll buy you blah-blah-blah". Sure there's an incentive, but if the person doesn't really want to quit, the chances of them succeeding are highly unlikely. It reminds me of the interview I did on SpeakFree Celebrity Sightings with Hal Johnson from Body Break. He told me about what he did when he was growing up when he wanted to send a message to his mom that smoking was bad. If you haven't checked out that interview, take a look at it. But really I think that if messages about how bad smoking is for you and that the health risks outnumber the positive aspects, then you're fighting a losing battle. There really isn't anything YOU can do if the other person has no desire to quit. I applaud your efforts. I know I've been trying for many years to get the message across but I've been unsuccessful. Just feel good that you know you tried and are smart enough to not be a smoker yourself.

Are you ever going to get "real" celebrities on your website? I hardly consider the people you have on there now "celebrities".
-Mick
Here's the thing: Just because a person isn't known by every single person in the world doesn't mean they are not a celebrity. A celebrity is defined as "a widely known person". The people I'm talking to are down to earth individuals who There are some people who laughed when I told them about upcoming interviews. But when I mentioned the person's catch phrase or even just the name, guess what... everybody knew who it was. After telling the person a little bit about what the guest had to say, the response was "That's pretty cool actually." I don't think you should be disrespectful to someone just because you haven't heard of the album or television program or read his or her book. Maybe this is an opportunity for you to learn about other interesting people who speak candidly about life. I'll admit that I didn't know a lot of the things my guests told me before I started researching them and I was excited to talk to them about projects they are working on or other things that have happened in their life. The point of this website is to have everybody be heard. That is why I am posting your letter and responding to it. You had an opinion, I gave you the floor, and I'm giving you the answer. Just like my celebrity guests- I contacted them, they wanted to talk to me, and I am sharing their message with the world.
